George Lester Jansa of St. Lawrence, Texas, left this earthly life for his heavenly home May 6, 2022.

He was born November 20, 1929, to George A. and Angeline Jansa of Miles, Texas. On April 20, 1953 he married the love of his life, Mary Lou Hoelscher.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Jansa, and five children, Earl (Joanne Pryor) Jansa, Wayne (Jennifer) Jansa, Denise Jansa, Allen Jansa, and Anita (Buddy) Cross.

And left to cherish are six grandchild­ren and three great-grandchild­ren. He has two living brothers, James Jansa and wife, Reiko, and Fred Jansa and wife, Judy, along with Betty Jansa, wife of brother Daniel.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine; parents George A. and Angeline; and brother Daniel Jansa.

He served active duty in the US army from 1951 to 1953, but his lifelong profession and passion was farming.

Pallbearer­s will be his grandchild­ren, Brian Howland, Wade Jansa, Dylan Jansa, Calleen White, Allison Rodriguez, and Evan Jansa. Honorary pallbearer­s will be Justin Rodriguez, Chuck White, Monica Jansa, Stephen Jansa (godson) and Stuart Jansa (godson).

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Lawrence. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday May 18, 2022, also at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.

As a family, we express heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at John F. Younger Alzheimer's Care Center at the Village at Manor Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
