It's official, Forsan senior Nolan Park is headed to the University of Texas Permian Basin next fall!

On Friday morning, family, classmates, coaches, and teachers gathered in the cafeteria to celebrate and recognize Park as he signed his letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic careers with the Falcons beginning next fall.

Forsan athletic director and head football coach Jason Phillip began by giving a speech stating that this is always an exciting day for us here at Forsan High School. “We love to see our kid's hard work and their determination payoff and being able to move on to the next level.” Phillips said

“This one has a little bit more of a personal tie with me. I've watched this kid grow up since he was little and it's just been a blessing to watch him grow up,” Phillips added. “I'm just super proud of him.”

Phillips went on to credit Nolan's success thanks to his work ethic. “Nolan's work ethic is off the charts and if you younger kids want to achieve your goals then he (Park) is a great role model,” Phillips said. “He's not the most outspoken person, but you can learn from him by just watching him putting in the work and effort.”

Forsan coach Greg Brown also spoke reiterating what coach Phillips stated before him. “What else can you say that coach

Forsan held the signing Friday morning at Forsan High School where family, friends, and faculty came out to support Nolan. In addition to continuing his athletic career at UTPB Nolan will also look to pursue a degree in sports management. Phillips didn't already state. Nolan is hard working and most importantly coach-able,” coach Brown said. “We're all proud of you Nolan.”

Following coach Brown's speech, Park officially signed his letter of intent committing to UTPB. It's no surprise that Nolan will have the opportunity to play at the next level. Park has earned All-district kicker in his four years of high school. Park has also been named District Lineman of the Year for three years in a row and has earned Academic All-district honors four years in a row.

Per UTPB special teams coach Rob Messinger, “Nolan has a very strong and accurate leg as both a kicker and punter. He's got huge upside and is a great student as well.

Speaking with Nolan after the signing he's very excited about the opportunity to continue his athletic and academic careers at the next level. “This is pretty exciting right now getting to do all this. I've been dreaming about this since I was a kid,” Park said.

“I just want to say thank you to all my coaches and teammates the past six years. They've helped lead me up to this point especially to my coaches who helped guide me through this process,” Park added. “A big thank you to my family. They have been supportive throughout all of this as well and guiding me throughout everything.”

As far as academics goes, Park will look to major in sports management next fall at UTPB. Congratulations Nolan on your success and good luck on the journey ahead!
