OF THE FLASH

Q: Are you emotionally prepared for saying goodbye to Barry after just about 10 years?

A: Yeah, I think I am. I’ve been saying it a lot recently. I thought that it would start to hit me harder at this point, being less than two months now. But I think I’ve had so long. Not only have I been doing it for so long, I’ve had a long time to process this. I mean, we decided shortly after Season 8 ended that Season 9 would be our last season. And even before that, we had all been contemplating when was the right time to end the show and go out on our terms. And I think I’ve had so long to process it that, I don’t know, I’m not struggling with it right now (laughs) as much as I thought I would.

Q: What do you think you’ll miss most about shooting “The Flash”?

A: I mean, the people. That’s the thing I’ve been thinking about the most as we started back up in the new year after the holiday break and it feels so close. Just people. I’ve done enough other jobs in the past 10 years, like movies and stuff and other TV shows before I did “Flash” that you know how quickly you can bond with someone and I’ve spent years with some of these people. And you think you’ll be able to stay in touch and see them again and unfortunately for the most part that’s just not true . ...

And it’s hard when you realize, “Whoa, I’m never gonna be in a room with all these people ever again.” I’ve really grown up with these people and embarrassed myself in front of a lot of them and triumphed in front of a lot of them. And that’s going to be really weird to say goodbye to a lot of these people I’ve grown up with.
