Honor of Presentations
On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, we had the honor of presenting the first-ever Tate Crawford Memorial Scholarship.
We knew when we started Tate’s Place, we wanted to do some sort of scholarship. We didn’t know what it would intel or what it would even look like.
After a year of Tate’s Place being a non-profit, we knew this scholarship needed to not only honor Tate, but also stand with our mission. We knew Service was it.
This year, we not only recognized a high school senior, but also someone in our community who volunteered their time and served alongside us with Tate’s Place.
Ernie and Laura Strickland were honored at our event this year. These two are a couple that we can call at any time; they jump without being asked and love our community wholeheartedly.
With our scholarship, we knew exactly who this award belonged to this year. Christian Everett is a high school senior at Coahoma ISD. Every event that we have had, she has been there volunteering her time. She has packed numerous boxes, delivered boxes, snapped pictures, served food, showed up without being asked and did it all with a smile on her face. She is the definition of a servant’s heart. Christian is so deserving of this award and we couldn’t be more proud of her!
One thing about our scholarship is that any senior within Howard County can be awarded. We don’t accept applications as it is solely based on service to our community.
Tate Crawford Memorial Scholarship, honoring Ernie and Laura Strickland goes to Christian Everette.
