Mary Palmer

- Paid Obituary

Mary Edith Norwood Palmer passed peacefully on January 28, 2024 to happily be reunited with her loving husband, John, and her dear son, Scott Sullivan, and other dear relatives and friends.

Mary loved going fishing with John. She loved traveling to new places with John and her sister, Mattie. Mary and Mattie had great fun traveling to their favorite casinos, and local game room slots as often as possible!

Mary was very witty, smart, and fun loving. She loved nothing more than beating her sisters, Nell and Mattie, at Scrabble or any word games. Trying to beat her sister, Vivian, at Sorry, and beating Everyone at

Poker!

Mary's favorite thing was coming home every day and having her margaritas!

Mary's son, Scott, was her only son and he was the light of her life. She was so very proud of his many accomplishments and the wonderful person he had become. It was extremely hard and heartbreaking when Scott passed December 29, 1992.

Mary worked at Big Spring Printing for many years. She even met John there and they were married August 3, 1973. John was Mary's world and she was devastated when he passed May 16, 2016.

Mary was born October 30, 1939 to her parents Bill and Della Norwood in Lohn, Texas.

Her siblings were Vivian Grantham, Nell Thames, James (Son) Norwood, Myrt Tindol, Mattie (Sis) Norwood, and her twin brother Martin (Bud) Norwood.

Nell, James, Mattie, and her sisters in law Margi and Sandy are going to desperately miss their sister, Mary. As will her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews, and her friends.

We have many fond, fun memories of Mary as she joins the many dear family members that have passed before her.

A family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch. com.
