Forsan out slugs Ralls in Game 1 of the Class 2A Bi-district playoff round

Williams, Olson account for three homers in dominant win

LUBBOCK, TX – The Forsan Lady Buffaloes out slugged Ralls Thursday afternoon topping the Lady Jackrabbit­s 18-6 in Game 1 of the Class 2A Bi-district playoff round at Lubbock Coronado's softball field. The Lady Buffs are now one win away from advancing to the Region I-2A area round of the playoffs.

Forsan, the District 4-2A champions, went through the entire lineup in the bottom of the first, scoring 11 runs to take an early 11-1 lead. Forsan's first baseman, K'leigh Williams, ignited the Lady Buffs offense blasting a three-run homer over centerfiel­d. Williams, who went 3-for-4 with 7 RBI'S, also doubled on a fly ball to left field to bring in another two runs for the Lady Buffs.

Forsan's Maddie Roach and Maegan Garza also brought in runs for the Lady Buffs with Roach hitting a double to score two runs and Garza hitting a triple to bring in another two runs.

Outfielder Abigail Olson also blasted a two run homer in the frame over left field.

Ralls cut the Lady Buffs lead in the top of the third by six scoring four runs in the frame. However, the Lady Buffs put up another seven runs to extend it's lead for good. Williams hit her second home run of the game for two more runs.

Ralls offense manged to score another run in the top of the fourth which would be their last of the game as they finished the game going three and out.

Roach got the start in the circle for the Lady Buffaloes. Roach threw for all five innings giving up five hits for six runs, with one error, two walks and retired five at the plate.

Forsan's bats proved to be the difference maker as the Lady Buffs recorded 15 hits for 18 runs with a total of 17 RBI'S. Junior third baseman Scout Stockton went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Roach along with Lybertee Rodriquez both finished the game going 2-for-3 at the plate.

RBI, while Roach finished the game with two runs scored and three RBI'S. Garza also finished the game with three RBI'S and Olson tallied two RBI'S

Ralls' Gabby Martinez was credited with the loss tossing for two and one-third innings. Martinez gave up 13 hits for 18 runs with 15 earned. Martinez struck three and walked three.

Forsan (21-6-1) will look to repeat as the Class 2A Bi-district champions today as they face off against Ralls in game two at Lamesa. Game time is set for a 11 a.m. start. Should Forsan lose, a third game will be played thirty minutes following the conclusion of game two.
