Wage increase approved by BSISD Board of Trustees on Thursday
The Big Spring Independent School District Board of Trustees convened for their monthly meeting on Thursday evening and decided to approve a four percent wage increase for the 2020-21 school year.
Research was relayed to the board members of what a 2% and a 3% wage increase would look like. After about 20 minutes of discussion, the Board concluded that the best route to take would be a 4% wage increase which would hover right around $1 million. At the end of the conversation everyone in the room seemed pleased with the result of the informative conversation.
In addition to the approved wage increase, there were three scholarships awarded to outstanding students that have recently graduated from Big Spring High School. The MexicanAmerican School Board Association (MASBA)
