Charleta Butrum, 66, of Big Spring, went home to her Heavenly Father Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020. Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, at the Peace Chapel located at Trinity Memorial Park officiated by Glen Carrigan. Due to the current situation with COVID, masks and social distancing is highly encouraged.

Charleta was born May 10, 1954, in Big Spring, Texas to James and Betty Findley. She graduated from Big Spring High School in 1972. She was also a loving, and devoted Mother, Memaw, Sister, Daughter, Friend, Mother-In-Law. Charleta was also a loyal Wife to the love of her life, her rock, Roger Butrum whom she married on Dec. 10, 1993.

Charleta worked as a seamstress at Walls Factory Outlet, and most recently as a Receptioni­st for Dr. Kuprianowi­cz and Dr. Johnson. She was a faithful prayer warrior and member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Charleta adored spending time with her family, crocheting and her weekly Saturday lunch visits with her mother and sisters. Charleta was a true Proverbs 31 woman, even in her darkest times during multiple agonizing surgeries and this final illness she praised and worshipped her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was able to pray, smile and laugh knowing that her future was secure in Heaven. We are all blessed to have had her in our lives.

Charleta was preceded to Heaven by her father, James Willard Findley and sister, Margaret Darling. Survivors include her beloved husband, Roger Butrum of Big Spring; mother, Betty Findley of Big Spring; two sisters - Vicki Eastman and her husband Ed of Strafford, VT and Jamie Roberts and her husband Troy of Stanton; two daughters – Candi Whitehead and her husband Kenneth and Jennifer Overton and her husband Jerry all from Big Spring; three sons – Brian Mims and his wife Angie from Big Spring, Matthew Mims and his wife Virginia of Gun Barrel City, Texas, and Stefen Stone and his wife Jenn of Midland, Texas; and two bonus daughters Lori Melaas and her husband Bill of Spokane Valley, WA and Shelly Hoffman and her husband Tyler of Artesian, SD; 17 grandchild­ren – Chris Mims, Sashauna Farmer, Gage Farmer, Krysta Whitehead, Hali Huckabee and her husband Alex, Spencer Wells and his wife Brooke, Courtney Overton, Brianna Mims, Olivia Mims, Savannah Humann, Layla Stone, Jason Butrum, Austin Butrum and his wife Nicole, Bryce Melaas, Eric Melaas, Rachel Bucholz and Malori Hoffman. 6 great grandchild­ren – Aubree Acosta, Paxtyn Acosta, Kaysen Kerby, Beau Avery Walker, Beau Butrum and Dena Butrum; and numerous, very loved nieces and nephews.
