Holiday closures announced for Howard County, City of Big Spring, local businesses

The Christmas holiday has arrived. Local banks, city and government offices will be closed, as well as many businesses throughout the community.

The City of Big Spring announced the closure of the golf course, city offices, and the adjusted trash pick up schedule.

The Comanche Trail Golf Course will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 25, 2020, for the Christmas holiday. The course will reopen on Saturday, December 26, 2020, for normal operating hours.

City of Big Spring offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25, 2020, in observance of the Christmas holiday.

There will be no sanitation pickup on Friday, Dec. 25. Thursday’s normal sanitation routes will be picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 23. Friday’s normal sanitation routes will be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 24.

The City Landfill will be open on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All other City offices will reopen on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020.

Emergency services (Police, Fire, and EMS) will continue normal operations during the holiday. The Emergency Utilities Department will also be available and can be reached by calling 432-264-2392.
