Richard Mills
Richard Mills, 72, of Big Spring, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2020. Viewing and visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
Richard was born on Jan. 13, 1948 in Sweetwater to James and Novie Mills. He married Loyce Craig on June 23, 1973 in Farwell. They were married 47 years. He lived most of his life in Big Spring. He owned several roofing companies through the years and was also an electrician. He was a Vietnam veteran and served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk .
Richard’s favorite time of year was Christmas and he loved to decorate. He loved his grandchildren. He loved his puppies: Patches, Lil Bit and Baby. He also loved to fish.
He is survived by his wife: Loyce of Big Spring; four sons: Matthew Mills and spouse Cody of Hubbard, Kerry Mills of Big Spring, Nicolas Mills and wife Laura of Big Spring, and Brody Mills of Big Spring; one daughter: Jodie Mills of Big Spring; thirteen grandchildren: Alex Roland, Alexia Mills, Bethany Mills, Camron Roland, Meghan Mills, Rey Mills, Jonathan Mills, Dustie Roland, Wendie Crabtree, Skyler Crabtree, Mark Castleberry, Lewis Castleberry, and Alesha Mills; three brothers: Jimmy Mills, Kerry Mills, and Mark Mills; and two sisters: Judy Roberts and Laurie Mackey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson: Gage Mills; three brothers: Terry Mills, Johnny Mills, and Billy Mills; and one daughter-in-law: Rose Mills.
