Rosalinda "Chakie" DeLeon, 78, of Big Spring, Texas passed away peacefully at home Dec. 31, 2020. Viewing and visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil at 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

She was born on Oct. 16, 1942, to Jesus and Ida Flores. She lived in Big Spring all her life. She married Jimmy DeLeon on June 28, 1957. She worked several years as a beautician and later retired from Coahoma ISD as the Special Ed Bus Driver. She was a devoted housewife, mother and grandmothe­r. Homemade tortillas and beans were an everyday ritual in her home. She enjoyed cooking and watching her Spanish soap operas and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years. Sons, Eugene DeLeon and Michael DeLeon of Big Spring. Daughters, Yvonne Myers and husband Rick, Yvette DeLeon and Jackie DeLeon of Big Spring. Her brother Salvador Flores. Grandchild­ren, Stacey King, Armando DeLeon, Gregory Alcantar, Jake DeLeon, Valerie Thompson, Kimberly DeLeon, Maximillia­n DeLeon, Sophie DeLeon, James DeLeon, Rebecca Myers, Allison Myers, Jared Rodriguez, Brody DeLeon, Braxten DeLeon, Chloe' Starr, Billy Starr Jr, Kelvi Alcantar. Eight great grandchild­ren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Jimmy "Chik" DeLeon Jr.

Pallbearer­s will be Jino Flores, Billy Starr Jr, Jared Rodriguez, Brody DeLeon, Armando DeLeon, Maximillia­n DeLeon and Honorary Pallbearer­s will be Eddie Flores, James DeLeon, and Braxten DeLeon.

Arrangemen­ts are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
