Big Spring EDC, public hearings and Executive Session on City agenda
A resolution amending the Big Spring Economic Development Corporation by amending the
Title of Article
VI entitled 'Directors' will be brought before the Big Spring City Council in the Tuesday regular meeting set to begin at 5:30 p.m. The amendments would amend 'Directors' to 'Directors, Officers, and Employees' and amend the number of directors, manner of employment and limiting the number of employees while also adding a new article entitled "Conduct of Business, Generally". The Council will also be discussing and possibly taking action regarding the reassignment of two staff members to other departments, along with possible action regarding breaking the lease agreement at the current building and moving the CVB to a City owned building. The lease agreements for the Chamber of Commerce and United Way that are co-located with the EDC will also be discussed with possible action taken. In addition, there will be three public hearings held regarding proposed amendments to the City's Zoning Regulations regarding carports and accessory uses; regulations regarding recreational vehicles and mobile/manufactured homes; and regulations regarding short-term rentals.
The City Council meeting will take place at the City Council Chambers. There will be a segment for public comment for those attending or those wishing to call in can do so, at that time, at 432-264-2411. Public comment is limited to five minutes per person.
Once the public comment segment concludes a recognition of four new police officers will take place as well as a moment recognizing City employees with 10, 15 and 20 years of service.
A presentation will be delivered to the City Council by Kevan Schooler from the Planning and Zoning Commission to include an overview of the final report concerning amendments to the Big Spring Zoning Ordinance regarding carports and accessory uses, travel trailers, recreational vehicles and manufactured
