Howard College Board of Trustees to convene Wednesday evening at 6, for routine agenda

Howard College Board of Trustees will be convening for a regular meeting on an irregular day. The Board will be convening on Wednesday afternoon at 6 p.m. after a short Executive Session at 5:45. The meeting will take place in the Tumbleweed Room of the Student Union Building.

The meeting will begin with the invocation and recognitio­n of guests, followed by communicat­ion to the board. Approval of routine matters will take place, which will include approve of minutes of regular meeting from Jan. 25, 2021, monthly checklist for January

2021, monthly reports of auxiliary services, personnel matters and internal audit report.

There is no unfinished business to be revisited which will allow the Board to move directly into new business. As usual the discussion will begin with Visioning and Future Directions. The vision, mission, values, and strategic planning for the district will be discussed as well as Board of Trustees Institute webinar report. Dr.

Cheryl Sparks will be providing the Open Howard College update as well as the Covid-19 response status #11. There are no reports for Big Spring, Lamesa or San Angelo specifical­ly. The update reported for SWCD will include Advisory Council Membership.

As part of the performanc­e measures/outcomes the Board will be presented with accountabi­lity measures including operationa­l indicators, financial indicators which will include quarterly investment report, and student success indicators including Spring enrollment and contact hour report.

The Board of Trustees will look at President’s Contract/ Job Descriptio­n before discussing an electricit­y bid. Annually the Board looks at bids and this is a routine agenda item.

The Board will also be looking at handbook and catalog changes before heading to discussion on constructi­on/ renovation projects. Updates will be given regarding the Big Spring/SWCD roof project and change orders. The Big Spring Campus boiler and chiller project will also be discussed as updates are provided.
