Bobbie Sanders Hanson

Bobbie Sanders Hanson, age 93, went home to be with our precious Lord on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021 at the Woodville Health and Rehab Center in Woodville, Texas. Where she had been a resident for the past two years.

She was born Oct. 25, 1927 to Early and Dollie Sanders in Big Spring and attended school in Big Spring. She married the love of her life Jack Hanson on Sept. 7, 1947.

She worked many places in her lifetime such as Medical Arts Hospital, Big Spring City Hall and Cosden before moving to Houston in 1968. While there she worked for Tenneco Oil. Moving back to Big Spring in 1989, she then worked at Key Energy. After retiring she kept children in her home and cherished each one of them. She decided to go back to work at the Big Spring State Hospital where she continued working until she was 86 years old.

Her greatest joy was her children. She would always tell everyone that she grew up with her children and their lives were filled with many adventures. She would tell anyone who would listen about all of those adventures. She also made sure that her kids knew about Jesus and taught them about loving everyone no matter who they were. She led by example and had a very generous and giving heart always willing to do her share and help others. She was a very crafty person and loved all kinds of crafts, she never had idle hands.

She is survived by her children Jackie (Jeannie) Hanson of Cat Springs, Texas. Sharon (Donnie)Shanks, Hillister, Texas and Roger Hanson of Big Spring, Texas. Her next greatest joy was her Grandchild­ren, J. P. (Angela) Shanks, Aubrey, Texas. Jeremy Hanson and Michael Hanson Houston, Texas. and Ashley Hanson, Manville, Texas. She also loved her 4 great grandsons Johan, Jacen, Gavin, and Alexander and 4 great granddaugh­ters Kaitlin, Jordan, Carter and Annabelle. She also is survived by one aunt, Margie Carrico and one uncle, Clarence Ledbetter as well as numerous cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Hanson, Parents Early and Dollie Sanders; two brothers Jerry Sanders and Larry (Peanut) Sanders; two sons Bobby Wayne Hanson and David Michael Hanson and one great grandson Michael Don Shanks.

Visitation will be Monday until 9 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Memorial Park.
