J. Roger Ridgway passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2021 at the age of 86. A Memorial Service for Roger will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6 at the 14th and Main Church of Christ in Big Spring Texas.

Roger was born in Joplin, MO. to John Leroy Ridgway and Margaret Hargis Ridgway on Dec. 17, 1934. He was an Eagle Scout earning his rank in December of 1949. Roger attended West Texas State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He met his wife, Margaret, while at college and they married Aug. 4, 1956.

Roger’s career was as an Electrical Instrument Engineer, where he worked on projects around the globe. It was a fitting career for someone like Roger, who loved travel and experienci­ng cultures worldwide. Roger was a faithful member of the 14th and Main Church of Christ in Big Spring. Roger loved the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado and

was fond of Mexico, but his heart really belonged to West Texas. He enjoyed traveling, archery, Fishing, water skiing, motorcycli­ng, barbecuing, camping and he was an accomplish­ed guitarist.

He leaves behind his wife, Margaret, three children: Patti La Bombard (David), Nancy Collins (Doug) and John Ridgway (Angela); eight grandchild­ren: Patrick Hughes, Wesley Burnett, Skylar Farr, India Morris, Robert Bills, Melloney Burnett, Brent Burnett, Latrecia Jordan and Amanda Cullum; 7 great grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, mother and two sisters: Margaret Ann Ridgway Chase and Rebecca Jane Ridgway Rumold.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you send donations to the Cherokee Home for Children in Cherokee, Texas or the Manuelito Navajo Children’s Home in Gallup, New Mexico.
