St. Mary’s Episcopal Church

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church welcomes all to participat­e in our services. We are located north of the High School on Goliad Street (1001 S. Goliad), and would love to have you visit.

Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by social gathering outside the church in the Courtyard & Bennett Garden. On Wednesdays we have Bible study and coffee in the morning at 10:30 a.m. and evening we have evening prayer and book study starting at 5:30 p.m. What a great opportunit­y to have meaningful fellowship and develop relationsh­ips with people who have a common interest, following the steps of Christ. Life Church

THIS SUNDAY is Easter Sunday!!! We invite you and your family to join us as we celebrate Easter. You will hear an inspiring message and experience heartfelt worship. There will be a lesson and activities for all the kids. We will have an Easter Egg hunt after the service for the kids. Service starts at 10:30am.

Life Alive is our Wednesday night ministry and all the fun starts at 7 p.m. There will be something for every member of the family. Join our Revelation Bible Class as Pastor Kevin continues to take us through the book of Revelation. Youth, Life Kids and Nursery are also available.

Spring Tabernacle Church

Spring Tabernacle Church is located at 1209 Wright Street.

We will be having Easter services at 10 a.m. Sunday morning. This is a special time that we want to praise and worship the Lord Jesus for what He did for us. He gave us so much to be thankful for. Let’s get together and give Him praise and glory.

NazFamily Church

Good Friday: Due to some COVID concerns, our Good Friday service will be online only. We will have a meaningful time of worship, reflection, prayer and communion together with NazFamily Church and the Bridge. We plan to have communion elements stationed outside of our main sanctuary entrance to be picked up tonight, or during the day Thursday, or you can collect some bread and grape juice at home to participat­e. We hope you will join us online only this Friday at 6:30 p.m. for this meaningful time together.

The Community Wide Egg Hunt will be postponed one week. We plan to have the egg hunt on April 10, with registrati­on beginning at 9 a.m. This will give us time to clean and disinfect everything and to take any additional safety measures that are necessary. We are asking anyone who is sick at all not to participat­e. We want this to be a great event for everyone involved.

There will be food, games, bounce house, coloring contests, door prizes, and of course, thousands and thousands of eggs. The Easter Bunny may even make an appearance. Come on out and enjoy a time that is fun for the whole family.

Resurrecti­on Sunday - We are planning a powerful worship gathering on Easter as we celebrate the resurrecti­on of our Lord. We will begin with a sunrise prayer time at 7 a.m. (which will be LiveStream­ed), followed by all church breakfast at 9 a.m. in the gym. Our Worship Gathering will be at 10 a.m. This is a great time to invite friends, family and neighbors to come worship with us. You won’t want to miss out on this meaningful time together. He is risen indeed!

Food Boxes - Every Tuesday and Thursday we make food boxes available in our church office from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. for anyone in need. If you know someone who needs an extra blessing they can come by the office at that time or contact us at 432-267-7015.

College Baptist Church

Join us in praising God and celebratin­g the Resurrecti­on of our Savior, Jesus, at College Baptist

Church, as we welcome new members through salvation and baptism! Come see what God is doing at the corner of 11th and Birdwell Lane. We are open on Sunday morning at 9:15 for Bible Study for all ages. Worship time is at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, our praying Youth groups start at 6 p.m. and have their meal between 6-6:45. Bible Study and Prayer Meeting is at 7 p.m. with children meeting for King’s Kids and Krafts. Nursery is as needed. College Baptist Church continues on mission for our Lord. We have so many things we do it’s difficult to list them all. Come help us serve our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. Our goal for the Annie Armstrong Easter missions offering for the home front has been set before us. This offering will go to help Home missionari­es establish new churches.

We definitely enjoy the worship time as our ministry team leads us in songs of praise, and where our pastor, Bro. Ken McMeans, inspires us as we delve into God’s Word, leading us as Jesus lives through us. First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church is located just off Gregg Street at the corner of Fourth and Scurry in downtown Big Spring. Our Sunday morning schedule includes the 9 a.m. Traditions service featuring the pipe organ, choir, trumpet and hymns. At 11 a.m., The Bridge service featuring contempora­ry music led by a wonderful praise team.

On Sunday, March 28, Pastor Ricky continued with his Lenten series on the “Last Week of the Life of Jesus”. Pastor Ricky shared with us about “Who was on Trial”, from the gospel of Luke 22:63-71. This coming Sunday, Pastor Ricky will conclude his Lenten series with “Contemplat­ing the Cross”.

First Presbyteri­an Church, Big Spring

April 1 a Maundy Thursday service was held in the chapel at 7:30 p.m. It included the Tenebrae service of shadows in which the symbols of Christ are covered in black to symbolized mourning and the lights are extinguish­ed by the end of the service. At the conclusion of the service there is no benedictio­n and the congregati­on is asked to depart in silence.

The colorful tulips, which bloomed a week early last week, are listed as those honored or sent in memory in the bulletin insert this Sunday.

Wednesday Lectionary Bible Study, which has been meeting at 6 p.m., is now meeting at 5, in the church library.

The Thursday Lunch Bunch meets in Fellowship Hall at 11:30.

The Discovery Class is looking at a study by Susan Robb, Senior Associate Minister at Highland Park United Methodist in Dallas, Seven Words – Listening to Christ from the Cross, which will be led by Helen Glass. The third session is “My God, my God.”

The Youth Bible Study, which is meeting in the Tent Room, is studying “Faith Questions: Being Presbyteri­an” led by Tom Koger.

The Children’s Class, led by Vicki Miller, is learning the Lord’s Prayer and will study about and celebrate Easter.

The Sunday morning Take Ten fellowship is in the parlor between Sunday School and worship. Paula Farquhar is host for this week.

Lectionary passages for Easter Sunday/the Resurrecti­on or the Lord are: Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24; Isaiah 25:6-9; Mark 16:1-8. The Rev. Allen Cross will lead the worship service and preside over Holy Communion. The sermon topic is “Easter Expectatio­ns” Organist/music director Gabe Martinez leads the music on the organ and piano and provides the Introit and Offertory.
