Friday is full of Local Softball and Baseball to help kick off the Easter Weekend

Friday is Good Friday, and if your looking for sports to help you kick off your Easter weekend, look no further than all of our local teams. We have plenty of Baseball and Softball to cure your sports fix.

The Forsan Buffaloes baseball team opens the play on Friday at 11:00 when they travel to Hamlin to take on the Pied Pipers. Forsan enters the game with a 6-9 record and a 1-0 District record. The Buffalos are coming off a dramatic 14 to 13 victory over the Colorado City Wolves. Hamlin comes into the game with a record of 1-8 and 0-1 in District play. The game sets up like a critical game for the Buffaloes.

If they can take care of business against the pesky Pied Pipers, that should set them up for a nice District run as we advance.

The Big Spring Steer Baseball team will travel on Friday to take on the Lubbock Estacado Matadors' first pitch for 4:01. The Steers have been struggling of late and look to turn their season around. The Steers take an 11-10-1 and a 2-4 District record into play Estacado also 11-10-1, but 5-1 in District. This game will be crucial for the Steers as they look to right the District play's track heading forward.

Both Coahoma Softball and Baseball teams will make the short trek to good ole Crane Friday. Bulldogett­es kick off the day with a 5:00 start time, and JV follows after. The Varsity Softball team is 12-5 with an impressive 4-0 District record. Crane

Herald file Photos comes in at 2-12-1 and 1-3 in District. The Lady Bulldogett­es will look to continue their hot play against a Crane team that has been struggling so far this season.

The Baseball team will also be in Crane Friday. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:30 for JV and 7:00 for Varsity. The Varsity Bulldogs are 9-6 with a 1-1 District record. The Golden Cranes have a record of 7-3-1 and 1-0 in District play. This will be a pivotal matchup of District foes. If the Bulldogs can win, they will be in a perfect spot heading forward.

All of our local teams will be on the road this Friday, but if you can support our local teams try and do so. These teams all can do something exceptiona­l this year, and it may very well be a great 2021 season for all the surroundin­g area teams.
