Big Spring Steer Football is back: Big 7-on-7 tournament to kick off Saturday

Football fans, you are in for a thrill this weekend. The Big Spring Steers are hosting a huge 7-on-7 Football tournament this Saturday, May 15. The tournament will have a field of 12 teams. Big Spring, Snyder, and Seminole will make up Pool A. Midland Christian, Lubbock High, and San Angelo Central are in Pool B. Pool C will be San Angelo Lakeview, Brownfield, and Greenwood. Group D has Crane, Wink, and Sonora.

The action will kick off this Saturday at 9 a.m. The games will take place at Memorial Stadium and Blankenshi­p Field. If you have never seen 7-on-7 Football, you are in for a thrill. It is a high-paced style of football. They decreased the field down to 45 yards. There are markers every 15 yards. If the team can get three first downs without a penalty, it is a Touchdown. All plays must be passed; there are no running plays also no kicking or punting. The runner is down when the opposing team touches him. Each half is 15 minutes. 7 on 7 is an appealing brand of football that is satisfying to attend.

Game Two will be at 10 a.m. and finds Midland Christian facing off against San Angelo Central. The last match of Pool B will be at 11 a.m. when San Angelo Central faces Lubbock High. Pool C will be at Blankenshi­p Field. They set the first game of the day for 9 a.m. and finds San Angelo Lakeview taking on Greenwood. The game at 10 a.m. will be San Angelo Lakeview against Brownfield. The last match of Pool C is at 11 a.m., and it will be Greenwood against Brownfield. Group D will Pool C.
