Men’s Breakfast

Bacon - do we really need to say anymore? Our next monthly men’s prayer breakfast will be on Saturday, August 7th at 8am. There is always great food and fellowship. Come be encouraged and challenged in our walk with Christ.

NazFamily Live

Our ministry staff gathers every Tuesday @ 12pm for a time in the Word, worship, and prayer together. You can join us on FaceBook Live at noon and let us know how we can pray with you. Stay connected!

Man Camp

This is unlike any retreat you’ve experience­d; because it’s not a retreat – its Man Camp! We’ll dive into God’s word over 4 sessions and enjoy fantastic food and fellowship. A horseshoe, pingpong and fishing tournament are available as well as hitting the links at Squaw Valley Golf Course and much more. Late night activities, disc golf, snacks, and the Man Cave are all up for grabs! All the activities will be held at Camp Arrowhead on October 1 - 3. You won’t want to miss it. St. Mary’s Episcopal Church

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church welcomes all to participat­e in our services. We are located North of the High School on Goliad Street (1001 S. Goliad), and would love to have you visit. Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by brunch in the Parish Hall. On Wednesday’s we have Bible study and coffee in the morning at 10:30 a.m. and evening we have Evening prayer and book study starting at 5:30 p.m. What a great opportunit­y to have meaningful fellowship and develop relationsh­ips with people who have a common interest, following the steps of Christ. Rally Day

On Sunday, August 15th, after the 10:30 a.m. service we are going to have a shrimp boil celebratin­g the new year and “The Feast of St. Mary the Virgin.” The celebratio­n will start around 11:30 a.m. All people from the community are invited to the celebratio­n.

Crestview Baptist Church

At Crestview Baptist Church, we believe the most fulfilling pursuit of believers is not entertainm­ent, gimmicks, or programs. Wednesday, August 11th- Join us ONSITE @7:00PM in the A.R.C. (Academic Resource Center) For our Ladies Night Bible Study. For those needing childcare doors will open @ 6:15PM| Food & Fellowship starts @ 6:30PM and session #7 begins at 7PM. Women this is our last session in the studying of Hosea: Unfailing Love Changes Everything. In a circle table format we will learn about unlikely couple, an unusual courtship, and an illicit affair. Through it all there was not a divorce; instead, a love story grew, It’s Hosea and Gomer’s love story. When you’re looking for identity, God calls you His own. When you feel enslaved, God frees you. When you wander away, God brings you home. No matter where you are, God sees who you are and loves you faithfully, Let’s learn together about His unfailing love and how it changes everything.

Rubies women’s night from 6-8PM @ Skateland Reloaded. Come on out and bring the kiddos for a back-to-school celebratio­n. There will be roller skating, eating, laughter & fellowship. First Presbyteri­an Church, Big Spring

NOTICE: Music Director Gabe Martinez has announced that Choir practice will be at 6:30 in the Parlor August 8 for Chancel Choir to begin in September. Come and add your voice to the worship services.

SUNDAY

Worship services begin at 10:50 a.m. in the Sanctuary at 8th and Runnels. Lectionary passages for the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost are: 1 Kings 19:4-8; Psalm 34:1-8; John 6:35, 44-49. Rev. Allen Cross will lead the worship service. The sermon topic is “Food for the Journey.” Organist/music director Gabe Martinez provides music for the service.

Sunday School begins at 9:45. Rev. Cross is teaching the Children’s Class. Tom Koger leads the Youth Class, which meets in the Tent Room. The Discovery Class is pursuing a study, this one entitled Think Like Jesus, also authored by Randy Frazee. The purpose of this study is to help participan­ts answer the question, “What do I believe and why does it matter?” Vicki Miller and Helen Glass are leading the study, which will continue through mid-September

Sunday morning Take Ten fellowship is in the parlor between Sunday School and worship. Cecilia Hallford is host for this week.

TUESDAY

The Communicat­ions Committee met at 2:30 in the Library August 3. They are working on making it easier for members and friends to access the digital prayers, devotional­s, sermons, and other communicat­ions across the church. Meetings are first Tuesdays of the month.

WEDNESDAY

Women’s Bible Study, a multidenom­inational group, meets in the Theater Room at 10:00 a.m.

The History Lectures, moderated by Nancy Michaelis, are continuing in FPC Theater Room, Noon-1:00 p.m. However, the History Lecture did not meet on August 4.

Lectionary Bible Study meets in the Library at 5:00 p.m.

THURSDAY

Everyone is invited to join the Lunch Bunch at 11:30 a.m.

Life Church

You are welcome to join us every Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. for an experience in the Word and in Worship.

Our Life Student Ministries will be hosting a Citywide Youth Worship Night on Saturday, Aug.

21. All the fun will start at 5 p.m. with an AirPod giveaway, food trucks and games.

The worship service will be led by InnerCourt Worship at 7 p.m. in the Life Church Sanctuary

Baptism Sunday is Sept. 19.

Baby and Child Dedication­s will take place on Sunday, September 12th.

Our Wednesday night activities, Life Alive, are on summer break. We will resume our classes in the fall.
