Alice Gonzales

Alice Gonzales, 69, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021 in Midland. Viewing and visitation will be at Myers & Smith Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with family receiving friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at Myers & Smith Chapel, Saturday, 10 a.m., Sept. 4, 2021, with Tris Clemons officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

Alice was born on May 22, 1952. She was a homemaker but had also worked at nursing homes and Scenic Mountain Medical Center. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring.

She loved garage sales and helping raise grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband: Armando Gonzales of Stanton; four daughters: Susan Garza McCoy of McKinney, Amelia Collins of Big Spring, Sally Westbrooks of Midland and Rebecca Chavier of Big Spring; one son: Andrew Garza of Big Spring; one brother: Ben Garza Sr. and wife, Gloria, of Big Spring; three sisters: Mary Johnson of Big Spring, Dolores Cantu of Ackerly and Erlinda Dixon and husband, Benjamin, of Big Spring; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son: Jesse Rivas; her parents: Inez and Vidal Garcia Sr.; one brother: Vidal Garza Jr.; and one sister: Genice Garza.

Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Lang, Anthony Rivas, David Westbrooks, Andrew Garza, Justin Ovalle and Aaron Mitchell.
