Buffaloes win again continue strong run now 4-0

-

This past Friday night, your #10 ranked Forsan buffaloes took on their toughest test of the season to this point as they battled the McCamey Badgers. This was Forsan's first home game of the year, and they looked to put on a show in front of the home crowd. Just like all the other games in this area, the Buffs had to deal with a lot of delays in the game, but they ultimately could get in a complete game of football. Again, they showed why they were the #10 team in Texas for 2A Division 1. The Buffaloes came out victorious 48 to 27 in what was more of a lop-sided score than I foresaw.

As this game prepared to kickoff, you could feel the passion in the stands as these Buffaloes had been playing great football to open up the season. It rewarded them with a great #10 ranking for that fantastic start. However, this game found them matched up with another good team in their own right, The 2-0 McCamey Badgers. Both teams were unbeaten, and both sides wished to keep it that way.

The game opened the way you would think two undefeated teams would play with some hardnosed football. The Forsan Buffs could strike first when QB Major Stockton could find his receiver

Joshua Cervantes for a TD pass giving the Buffs the early 6 to 0 lead with 8:09 left to play in the first quarter of play. McCamey then got the ball back and had a drive of their own on this great Forsan defense. McCamey showed why they were also unbeaten as they tied up the game at six, all with a touchdown of their own with 6:00 minutes left in the first quarter. However, McCamey would not be done in the first quarter as they could take the lead with another TD score, making the score 13-6 in favor of the Badgers. Forsan knew it needed to keep pace with the dangerous Badgers. That is absolutely what they did as time ran out in the first quarter; the Buffs Chris Mendez punched the ball in the end zone, making this a 12-13 game at the end of one.

The start of the second quarter of play found the Buffaloes unfamiliar; they actually trailed in the game. Both teams scored quickly to open up the second quarter of play, and the Buffaloes tied up the game at 20 to 20 with 7:58 left in the second when the first lightning delay occurred. After about a 30-minute delay, the action got back on the field. Forsan took control of this game and scored before halftime to take a 27 to 20 lead into halftime.

After another delay during the halftime festivities for lightning once again, both teams got a prolonged rest. Once the play got started again, the Forsan Buffaloes were the better team on the field this night. They took control of this game and dominated on the ground. Major Stockton could break
