Rodrigo Chavera, 70, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Visitation will be 9 AM until 9 PM Sunday with vigil service 7 PM at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 AM Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Rodrigo was born on March 13, 1951 in Pearsall, TX to Manuel and Felipa Chavera. He has been in Big Spring for 19 years and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Rodrigo loved to be with family everyone thought of him as a grandpa. He enjoyed wood working, making crosses, benches, etc. He loved the outdoors especially farming.

Rodrigo is survived by his son: Adam Chavera (Krystal) of San Antonio; 2 daughters: Felipa Salazar

(David) of Big Spring & Vicky Robles (Joe) of Big Spring; grandchild­ren: Christina, Mercedes, Rigo, Emma, Lucy, David, & Destiny; step grandchild­ren: Adolfo, Elocia, Angel, Sergio, Mario, Juan, Joe, Nadya, Anestacia, Nathan & Christophe­r; great grandchild­ren: Anthony, Adrian, Amaya & Abraham; 4 sisters: Mary Gutierrez, Gloria Gallardo, Ermenia Chavera & Consuelo Rodriguez; numerous nieces and nephews that he treated like grandkids, especially Arnold Jr and his family who took care of him these last few years.

Rodrigo was preceded in death his parents: Manuel & Felipa Chavera; wife: Elva Chavera; 2 brothers: Marcos Chavera & Arnold Chavera, sisters: Irene Flores & Yolanda Gutierrez & nephew: Edward Flores, Jr.

Pallbearer­s will be Rigo Chavera, Orlando Chavera, Tony Salazar, Adolfo Salazar, Juan Mendoza, & Luis Rodriguez.
