Carlos “Charlie” Florez, 63, died Sunday, July 3, 2022.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Internment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Carlos was born March 9, 1959, in Big Spring, Texas, to Maria and Fermin L. Florez Sr. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1979 until 1982.

Carlos worked for the city of Big Spring, Lakeview Head start, and TRAX. He was a kind, loving, caring person and always had respect for others. He had a great sense of humor and made everyone laugh. One of his favorite past time memories was listening to Tejano music and playing solitaire. He also loved his wife and son very much.

Carlos is survived by his wife, Catalina Franco Florez of Big Spring; one son, Jesse Franco of Big Spring; his mother, Maria Florez of Bryan, Texas; three sisters, Florence Rosas (Orlando) of Friendswoo­d, Texas, Elizabeth Rios (Robert) of Big Spring, Texas, and Debra Olague (Tom) of Big Spring; one brother, Pedro Florez of Bryan, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

Carlos was preceded in death by his father, Fermin L. Florez Sr.; brother: Fermin L. Florez Jr; his maternal and paternal grandparen­ts.

Pallbearer­s will be Robert Rios Sr., Albert Franco, Mr. Mesa, Amando Cortez, Sammy Correa, and David Lee Rios.
