Something to think about…

-

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” ~ 2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV

The faith journey is never safe and easy. It is more like walking on a tightrope across the Grand Canyon. A few years ago Nik Wallenda did just that. He travelled across the Grand Canyon on a tightrope, without a harness and without a net. He later shared about the faith, courage, and focus it takes to stay on that narrow little line. It made me think about the faith it takes to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. We have to watch our steps carefully in life. We have to focus every fiber of our being on the One who is holding us up and will get us safely to the other side.

“I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward— to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.”

“So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you'll see it yet! Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it.” ~ Philippians 3:12-16, The Message

The Lord continues to call us to follow Him and walk by faith. I am confident that Jesus is who He says He is and if we focus our lives fully on Him we will arrive safely at our destination. Take that next step by faith today!
