Adolph L. Labbé Sr., 81, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2023. Adolph was born May 29, 1941, in San Diego, Texas, to the late Elodia and John Labbé. He was a former resident of Canton and Athens, Texas, and was a resident of Big Spring for 40 years. He received his M.M.ED from North Texas State University and was a music educator for more than 40 years. He taught at Howard College for over 20 years and enjoyed directing the Nighthawk Jazz Band and mentoring his many students. Adolph played every woodwind; but saxophone was his instrument of choice. He learned a great deal about cars from his father and even raced many of his own including his AMX during the 1960s. Adolph was a lover of classical and jazz music and cared for many cats over the years. Anyone who knew Adolph knows he was always sharing stories and never at a loss for words.

Adolph is survived by: his wife Phyllis Labbé of Big Spring; daughter, Kim Labbé of San Antonio; son Adolph Labbé Jr. of Odessa; daughter Teresa Labbé of Dallas; brother Robert Labbé and wife Almira of Corpus Christi; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by: wife Carmen D. Labbé and nephew Robert Labbé Jr.

Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Myers and Smith Chapel. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Memorial Park.
