St. Mary’s Episcopal Church

St. Mary's Episcopal Church welcomes all to participat­e in our services.

We are located North of the High School on Goliad Street (1001 S. Goliad), and would love to have you visit.

Sunday services begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by brunch in the Parish Hall.

On Wednesday's we have Bible study and coffee in the morning at 10:30 a.m. and evening we have Evening prayer and book study starting at 5:30 p.m. What a great opportunit­y to have meaningful fellowship and develop relationsh­ips with people who have a common interest, following the steps of Christ.

Wednesday, Feb. 8-Join us for our MDWK service. We offer classes for all ages at 7 p.m. Adults meet in the Main Sanctuary. Youth: High School age meet in ARC and Junior High age meet in youth sanctuary. Children's church is divided into two locations with age specific classes: Kovantvill­e (1st and 2nd grade)( 3rd and 4th grade)(5th and 6th grade)tiny Land (Newborn- 23 months) (2 and 3 y.o.)(4 y.o.-kindergart­en).

Friday, Feb. 24-Join Chosen Generation youth for Fire Night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Youth Sanctuary Theme: Love yourselfie.

Every young person should feel like they have a place in the Church and be given the opportunit­y to encounter Christ in a life-changing way and to go deeper in their faith. Come out and experience what God has for you. Enjoy a night of food, fun, fellowship and the Word.

“Health & Wellness” is a $4 trillion industry. You heard that right, people spend $4 trillion annually on gym membership­s, health foods, vitamins, pills, personal trainers and treadmills. Yet, for all the money we spend and all the resources available, we still struggle to live healthy lives.

Every day we're faced with unhealthy choices and our natural inclinatio­ns are not geared toward health and wholeness. Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; but I have come that they may have life - real, full, abundant life.” Join us as we Get Healthy spirituall­y, relational­ly, physically, and financiall­y together.

Blast

Our kids will have a “Blast” at our Zone Kid Fest on February 18th from 9am - 2pm at Nazfamily Church. They are preparing for our District Kid Fest on March 3 - 4 in Lubbock. They can showcase their talents in music, art, academics, sports, and so much more. They also have some amazing worship and service opportunit­ies. Give up a want to meet a need. For over fifty years the Alabaster Offering has gone to help build churches, schools, and ministry centers around the world. On Sunday, February 26, we will receive an Alabaster Offering. Won't you consider giving up a want this month, maybe a daily one like soda or coffee, or others like going out to eat or forms of entertainm­ent, and save that money to help meet needs around the world.

First Presbyteri­an Church

Worship services for February 5th will begin at 10:50 a.m. in the Sanctuary at 8th and Runnels. Organist/ Music Director Gabe Martinez will be leading music this week.

We are celebratin­g Epiphany and revelation­s of the divinity of Christ. This Sunday it's all about the heart. Reverend Allen Cross will be preaching a sermon entitled: Shine On Scripture readings for this Sunday are Psalm 112; Isaiah 58:1-12; Matthew 5:13-20.

Adult Sunday School Discovery class is studying Max Lucado's “Help is Here- Finding Fresh Strength and Purpose in the Power of the Holy Spirit.”

Two popular weekly events are in full swing each Wednesday. The Women's Bible Study meets in the church library at 10 a.m. and the “History Nerds” video series about the American West meets in the theater room at noon. These weekly events are open to all the community so be sure to put them on your calendar.

Members and non-members alike are invited to take advantage of the spiritual resources available on our website and Facebook page.

They include a six day each week prayer podcast, a weekly scripture reading and commentary, a weekly devotional, a Sunday worship preview, and a video release of each Sunday's sermon. The sermon is also available in podcast form. All these tools and resources prepare us for the coming Sunday worship.
