Vasquez arrested related to shooting on Donley St.

On the 28th of February 2023 at approximately 10:45 A.M., Big Spring Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Donley in reference to shots fired. One officer was in the area at the time the call came out and immediately observed a Hispanic male running into a residence in the 900 block of E. 15th. The officer yelled out for the individual to stop though he refused and made it inside. A perimeter was quickly established on the residence. The individual, identified as Rigoberto Vasquez Hispanic/male 27 years of age, eventually exited out the back door and was taken into custody. The preliminary investigation has found that Vasquez was involved in the shooting in the 1500 block of Donley.
Big Spring Police Department Criminal Investigations Division
was notified to assist. Two search warrant affidavits were presented to a magistrate who then issued the warrants to search for a vehicle on scene and the residence Vasquez ran inside. A firearm and holster were recovered as a result of the searches.
At the time of this release no victims have come forward providing information. Vasquez is charged with Evading Arrest Detention, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Deadly Conduct.
