Adoration to Abhorrence How

-

do we as a human being go from adoring to hating?

How can we stop this emotion called hate?

Only by the grace and mercy of our Almighty

God, can this be accomplished.

What is adoration?

According to the dictionary it means admiration, worship, idolatry, approval, love, deification, apotheosis, or reverence. Some of those words are hard to pronounce, let alone understand.

Abhorrence means just the opposite. It means hatred, abominate, detest, loathe, or despise. Sometimes we use the word hate when we don't understand exactly what we mean.

So let's look at a situation where we adore. We feel this emotion when we meet someone we truly admire. We feel like we can't do enough for them to show our deep love for them. By the way love is an action word. And we try to show those we love just how much we really care about their wellbeing. But when that love is betrayed, then the emotion is quickly replaced by abhorrence. We turn to hate to protect our hearts from breaking. We turn away from the hurt to soothe our own conscience that maybe we loved too strongly for our own good.

But God is always love. We should always love Him no matter what is going on in our lives. We never need to turn away from Him.

Jesus Christ is the perfect example of God's love for us. We betrayed

God when our sin put Jesus on the Cross. We crucified Him then and continue to do so as we walk away from Him instead of embracing Him and His debt free life. For God did so love the world, that's me, that He did give His only begotten (perfect blood) Son, that if I only would open my heart to Him in every circumstance of life, He would forgive my sin, so I won't perish, but have everlasting life.

So don't let love turn to hate. Rather turn to God for continual healing. Then when we do make it to Heaven, He won't have too much changing to do in us.
