The Heritage Museum of Big Spring will hold its Annual Meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The meeting, which will be hosted at the museum, will feature guest speaker Ken Zoller with Distant Horizons Photography. Zoller will discuss his exhibit of West Texas photography during the meeting.

“I call what I do 'phototherapy,' because it helps keep me reasonably sane in this crazy world,” Zoller said. “I'm mainly a landscape photographer. I like to do a lot of historical subjects. Basically the topic of this exhibit is going to be scenes from around West Texas.”

Heritage Museum Director Tammy Schrecengost said an exhibit of Zoller's art will open the day of the meeting.

“I had actually seen him on Texas Country Reporter,” Schrecengost said. “He was from Midland, and I said, 'Oh, that's interesting,' so I looked him up. He is kind of a Texas photographer. He specializes in Texas landscapes. He will photographed trains passing through Rattlesnake Gap.

“He did this great picture, there's a place where the train goes through, and he's tried to get the moon and the train for a long period of time, and he was able to capture it,” she said. “It's really beautiful and that's what grabbed my attention.”

He's also photographed the old Hyman Church in Mitchell County, she said.

The Annual Meeting is an opportunity for the museum to introduce its newly selected officers, Schrecengost said.

“We vote on officers every year, and so it's to introduce the new officers and have them installed,” she said. “It's always traditional to have, we call it a ‘Cbuckwagon Party.' It's still called a Chuckwagon Party but we no longer have a chuckwagon. I think they did back in the 1970s, but we're going to continue on with the western flair and have chicken fried steak and gravy.”

The meeting is open anyone who purchases a ticket, which are available through the Heritage Museum. Call 432267-8255 for more information.
