I often take walks through

Beaver Island State Park in Grand Island, New York. I am always in awe of the wildlife there—especially the great blue herons. There’s usually a lot of heron action in the park in spring, thanks to a major rookery located on Pirates Island, on the Niagara River. I took this picture of one of the herons leaving an inlet, probably on its way back to the rookery after catching its lunch.
