A marine-electronics dealer/technician can test your current Airmar transducer using Airmar Technology’s TDT1000 Transducer Diagnostic Tester. This can determine if your transducer is in proper working condition via the SensorCheck app for iOS and Android mobile devices.

The testing unit connects to the transducer cable connector and will recognize your Airmar transducer serial number, run a series of diagnostics, and then compare its performance characteristics to the specifications the transducer met when it left the factory. This will tell you if performance has degraded over time or if the transducer is running well. Either way, it’s good to know.
