For Kids
Don’t Forget to Play
School is back in session. Vacation may be over but every kid still wants to run, yell and play like it’s summer. Children are naturally drawn to active and loud outdoor play. Playing outside is not only a form of exercise, it allows them to explore an environment, while developing muscle strength and coordination.
Outdoor play is also about cognitive and social development. When outside, kids are more likely to use their imagination to invent games. In doing this they’re able to express themselves freely and creatively. They feel safe and in control, which promotes autonomy, decision-making and organizational skills. Creating their own rules for games promotes an understanding of why rules are needed. Although kids are only playing for the pure fun of it, they’re learning!
Luckily, the weather is beautiful and we have some wonderful playgrounds to enjoy! Every kid loves some playground time and we’ve listed (left) some unique playground features in Bonita and Estero that will surely run off some energy while expanding their creativity. They all are a bit different in location, size and equipment but, most importantly, play remains the same.
