Several candidates in local election races

Several seats on local city councils and school boards are open.

On the Borger ISD Board of Trustees, board member seats currently held by Les Sharp and Cody Sessions seats are open. Candidates that have applied for the election are Ricky Garzon, Keegan Neill, Devon Thompson, and Dr. Don Bates.

Borger City Council had two seats open for the upcoming term held by Karen Felker and Kim Perez. Felker and Perez filed for re-election, and no candidates filed against them, making the race unconteste­d and canceling the need for an election.

At Stinnett, Stinnett City Council has three seats open this term. Mayor Colin Locke’s seat, Alderman Place 1’s seat held by Bobby Cullon, and Alderman Place 2’s seat held by Donald Schenk. Seeking election in this race are for Stinnett Mayor is Colin Locke, Alderman Place 1 Bobby Cullon, and Alderman Place 4 Donald Schenk and Jeffery Stieg.

For the Plemons-Stinnett-Phillips Consolidat­ed Independen­t School Board, seats held by Tammy Hamby, Katie Kight, and Jody Nolen are up for election. Filing as candidates for the PSPCISD Board of Trustees is Cody Bedell, Tammy Hamby, Robert Ivy, Jr., Jody Nolen, Adam Scott, and Darrell Wood.

Sanford-Fritch ISD Board of Trustees has two seats open on the board. Board seats on the SFISD Board Of Trustees held by Stacey Boothe and Logan Bidwell are available. Candidates seeking these seats are Stacey Boothe, Logan Bidwell, and Ben Allen.

Fritch City Council has four openings on the council. Seats held by William Robbins, Tom Ray, Jeremy Rice, and Rob Hendrick are open. Candidates seeking election as council members are Jeremy Rice and Rob Hendrick. Tom Ray has filed as Mayor.

Election Day is Saturday, May 6.
