Ted Byron Dodd

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, called home Ted Byron Dodd, 70, at 7:20 a.m. On February 11, 2023 in Amarillo, Texas. Ted B. Dodd was born October 1, 1952 in Tyler, Texas. He married his beloved wife, Cynthia Ann Duren Dodd on June 12, 1971, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage.

Ted B. served as an Air Evacuation Medic in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Sam Houston State University with an environmen­tal science degree. Ted B. was the proud father of three children, Justin Tyler Jackson Dodd, Kristin Nicole Jane Dodd, and Kirstin Elissa Duren Dodd. Ted B. retired from the City of Borger as the Director of Public Works, after being a public servant for most of his life. He loved traveling with his wife and dogs, live music, laughing and telling dirty jokes. He loved his dog, Aggie, who faithfully guarded him.

Ted is preceded in death by his father and mother, James Byron and Roxie Mitchum Dodd; father-in-law, Billy Ray Duren, grandparen­ts, Albert and Muggie Mitchum and Gordon and Myrtle Dodd.

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy including his loving wife, Cynthia Ann “C.A.” Duren Dodd; son and daughter-in-law, Justin “Ticker” and Angie “Boo” Dodd; daughters, Kristin “Aileron” Dodd Griswold and Kirstin “Cursor” Duren Dodd; grandchild­ren, Riley “R-ah R-ah” Dodd, Jackson “Jack-Soon” Kirk, Brinkley “Sprinkles” Griswold, Piper “Joachim” Dodd, Patton “Sparky” Griswold, and Winston “Spencer” Duren Schubert; brother and brotherin-law, Michael Dodd and Tom Scharbach; mother-in-law, Sheila Duran; sister-in-law, Debbie King and husband, James; aunt, Bobbie Stevens; and many cousins and extended family.

Ted B. will be greatly missed by all of those who had the pleasure to know him.
