THE PRU’S NEW POLO RALPH LAUREN BRINGS CASUAL AMERICAN CHIC TO BOSTON’S SPRING STREETS.

- BY LISA FERRANDINO

The Pru’s new Polo Ralph Lauren brings casual American chic to the city’s spring streets.

It’s safe to say that Boston wears New England–prep quite well. Bright cable-knit sweaters and nautical stripes pepper the Back Bay’s cobblestone streets come springtime. And now, with Polo Ralph Lauren’s new boutique at The Shops at Prudential Center, the brand’s first in Boston, it’s easier than ever for the city’s stylish set to step into the season with a classics-with-a-twist wardrobe reboot.

Decked out with beautiful architectural elements like exposed ceiling beams, large paneled windows, and a video projection wall of Lauren’s glamorous runway shows, the 2,631-square-foot space offers up the iconic heritage label’s best in men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories. Women can indulge in the brand’s sporty-meets-Parisian looks: navy-and-white dresses accented with relaxed Bengal stripes, sculptural off-theshoulder blouses, cozy cashmere pullovers, and dainty ballet slippers. For men, it’s all about a mix between everyday casual and tailored suiting, from cargo pants, moto denim, and military jackets to pleated trousers, marine-blue blazers, and playful plaids. Looks like springtime is going to be exceptionally bright—and fashionable!
