PORTRAIT OF A PARTY
Dance the night away with Matisse and rosé at the Museum of Fine Art’s Summer Soirée.
Feel free to step into the world of the late great artist Henri Matisse with a glass of wine in hand at the Museum of Fine Art’s annual Summer Party. The bash returns on June 10 with a South of France theme inspired by the thrilling exhibit “Matisse in the Studio,” which will be open to guests all evening. Some of the painter’s major works being showcased include Interior with
Egyptian Curtain, Goldfish and Sculpture, and Purple Robe and Anemones. “Rosé all day is sort of the unofficial theme,” says Erika Gorman, Vice Chair of Events for the MFA Summer Party. “It’s great to get together and give back to the MFA. It’s also just a fun, fun night.”
The evening begins with a VIP pre-party in the upstairs Koch Gallery, which includes a full-course dinner and a live auction of art and high-end goods. VIP contributors will receive a print by the benefit artist Julia Powell. Then, the crowd will descend to the Shapiro Courtyard for the main event: music and dancing, with DJ Rich DiMare playing the tunes. It’s the museum’s only black tie event of the year, and you’re invited—while tickets last. This is one of those parties you will not want to skip.
