Abie, 14, likes sports, drawing
“Hi! My name is Abeizer. ... but you can call me Abie.
“I want to become a police officer, specifically on a SWAT team.
“I would like to take karate lessons.”
Fourteen year-Abie is a young man of Hispanic descent who has a great sense of humor. Abie plays most sports and is currently on a soccer team. He likes to read, draw, make things with his hands, talk and tell stories, play cards, sing and dance. He is polite, well-mannered, has strong family values and believes in God and spirituality.
Abie has said he wants an English-speaking family that will always keep him safe. His worker believes he would do best in a single- or two-parent male or male/female home that allows for a slow transition. The family should consistently provide structure, routine, clear limits and consequences. He should be the only child living in the home. The family would also need to be patient and understanding of his needs and behaviors.
Abie states his one wish is that he could be back with his brothers, so it will be important for a family to maintain contact with his siblings and other members of his birth family.
