No arrest yet in Lynnfield party shooting

The grieving mother of a 33-year-old Randolph man shot dead at a raucous predawn party at a Lynnfield mansion Sunday said her son’s killer ended the life of a doting father of two.

“You just turned my grandkids into another statistic and that’s just not right,” said Sharon Heath, mother of Keivan Heath, who leaves behind boys ages 1 and 13. “I hope he thinks about, if he has kids, about what my grandkids are going to feel like. Worse yet, if he has kids, how are they going to feel like when he’s in jail. ... He stole my heart. You took away a good father.”

Authorities had not announced any arrest as of last night in Keivan Heath’s fatal Sunday 3 a.m. shooting at the Lynnfield home, a gated property on Needham Road.

Alex Styller, owner of the $3.35 million estate, has told the Herald he rented out the home to a group for a weekend college reunion of about 20 people and returned to find it a trashed crime scene. Police told him there were 60 to 100 people there, Styller said. Neighbors complained about loud music and women in the streets walking around in bikinis.

Sharon Heath said she doesn’t know details of the party or why her son was there.

“My understanding is he was invited,” she said. “I don’t know who invited him. I don’t know anything. I didn’t even know he was in Lynnfield until I got the call from the hospital.”

A man who would only identify himself as D’Wayne, 27, Keivan Heath’s cousin, said his relative deserved better. D’Wayne said his cousin was a mechanic who loved dirt bikes and could get along with anybody, no matter who they were or where he was.

“He was an awesome father. Everybody loved him,” D’Wayne said. “I don’t know how this went about. I do know this happened to the wrong guy. He wasn’t in the streets.”

Heath’s neighbor, Georgia Vantsouris, 59, said she would often see him walking around the block pushing his toddler in a stroller. Vantsouris said Heath would see her and say hi with a smile on his face.

“I cried for him. He was a very nice guy,” she said.

The 5,000-square-foot European contemporary mansion, which Styller said he and his wife designed and built, was put up for sale earlier this month.

Styller said he has been making his lavish home available for short-term rentals — primarily family reunions, corporate outings and other special events. “I specifically say I don’t rent for large parties,” he said.
