Jets go slow with CB Revis

-

The New York Jets are taking things slowly with Darrelle Revis’ surgically repaired wrist.

The star cornerback is uncertain when he might fully practice during training camp after being injured early last season. Revis played through a torn ligament in his right wrist that required surgery in March.

“There’s no timetable right now,” Revis said yesterday. “I’m just taking it day by day and I’m just going to see how it progresses.”

The former Patriot participated in some individual drills during minicamp and now training camp but has watched from the sideline during 7-on-7 and 11-on11 drills.

“I’m feeling OK,” Revis said. “Right now, the procedure is just staying in shape and doing some press coverage techniques.

“You’ve just got to take your time with it.”

The seven-time Pro Bowl selection is 31 and entering his 10th NFL season, his second since returning to the Jets last offseason following a season in Tampa Bay and a Super Bowl win with the Pats.

Cruz makes early return

Victor Cruz is back a lot sooner than anyone expected.

After missing all of last season and being limited to six games over the past two, the New York Giants receiver was a full-go as the team held its first practice at training camp under new coach Ben McAdoo.

Cruz participated in every drill. He caught passes. He worked at recovering fumbles, knocking off some of the rust. And he didn’t show any signs of being limited either by his knee or the calf injury that plagued him last year.
