Chill out with refreshing watermelon cocktail
There are a few foods that are quintessentially “summer,” and watermelon is definitely one of them. It’s cool and refreshing to eat, and it makes a great drink. Our Fresh Watermelon Crush has been a perennial favorite in our restaurants, and this recipe should serve you well in these last days of summer. Cheers!
FRESH WATERMELON CRUSH
2 oz. St. George All Purpose
Vodka 1 oz. simple syrup Diced watermelon pieces
Make the simple syrup by combining equal parts water and sugar and stirring to incorporate.
Cut a watermelon into approximately 1-inch cubes and refrigerate. Using a 1 over A ounce jigger, measure out the first 2 ingredients into a shaker glass. Fill the shaker glass
E full with diced watermelon pieces, leaving room in the glass for ice.
Add ice into the shaker glass, filling the glass completely.
Top the shaker glass with a Boston metal tin shaker and shake hard. The watermelon pieces will need a long shake time to completely break down.
Using the Hawthorne strainer, strain into martini glass. Be sure to choke the strainer to prevent larger pieces of watermelon from getting into the glass.
