Sanchez Show keeps playing

Rookie Gary Sanchez kept up a most remarkable run, homering for the third straight game as the Yankees routed the Baltimore Orioles, 13-5, yesterday in New York.

Sanchez hit a drive that bounced off the top of the right-center field wall and over in the fourth inning. He reached 11 career home runs faster than anyone in major league history — 23 games, including two hitless games last year.

Starlin Castro and Aaron Hicks also homered as the Yankees won their fourth in a row to move within 2 1⁄2 games of the second AL wild card spot.

Baltimore has dropped three straight.

Blue Jays 8, Twins 7 — Melvin Upton Jr. hit an RBI triple and continued home on a misplay in the eighth inning, completing host Toronto’s rally from a five-run deficit and sending the AL Eastleadin­g Jays past Minnesota.

Edwin Encarnacio­n blasted his 36th homer and drove in three runs, giving him 105 on the year, as Toronto handed the Twins their ninth straight loss.

Angels 3, Tigers 2 — Detroit stars Victor Martinez and J.D. Martinez were ejected, along with manager Brad Ausmus and hitting coach Wally Joyner in a series of balls-and-strikes disputes as the Tigers’ five-game winning streak ended in a loss to visiting Los Angeles.

Kaleb Cowart hit his second career home run and C.J. Cron added an RBI single for the Angels.

Rangers 7, Indians 0 — In Arlington, Texas, Mitch Moreland’s grand slam capped a five-run first inning for Texas and A.J. Griffin pitched six strong innings as the Rangers blanked Cleveland.

Astros 6, Rays 2 — Rookie Alex Bregman homered and had three RBI to back seven solid innings by Dallas Keuchel (two runs, nine hits) and lead host Houston over Tampa Bay. White Sox 9, Mariners 3 — Jose Abreu hit the first of four home runs by his club and Jose Quintana threw 7 2⁄3 solid innings to lead host Chicago past Seattle.

National League

Rockies 9, Nationals 4 — Charlie Blackmon hit two home runs, including the goahead shot in the 11th inning, and Carlos Gonzalez hit the 200th homer of his career as visiting Colorado cooled Washington to snap a fourgame losing streak.

Jake McGee (1-3) got the win by pitching a perfect 10th, which included a strikeout of Bryce Harper that led to the reigning NL MVP being ejected.

Dodgers 3, Cubs 2 — Julio Urias allowed one run over six innings, Corey Seager set a franchise record for a shortstop with his 23rd home run and host Los Angeles edged Chicago to even the series between NL division leaders.

Mets 12, Phillies 1 — Yoenis Cespedes clocked a three-run homer, Kelly Johnson had a pinch-hit grand slam and Noah Syndergaar­d pitched two-hit ball for seven innings as host New York routed Philadelph­ia.

Braves 3, Giants 1 — Matt Kemp hit a three-run homer and Mike Foltynewic­z pitched 7 2⁄3 strong innings, leading visiting Atlanta over San Francisco.

Padres 1, Marlins 0 — Ryan Schimpf homered, Clayton Richard pitched seven shutout innings and San Diego won in Miami to snap a fourgame losing streak. Pirates 9, Brewers 6 — Pinch-hitter Gregory Polanco had a tiebreakin­g three-run double and visiting Pittsburgh rallied to beat Milwaukee. Reds 13, Diamondbac­ks 0 — In Phoenix, Anthony DeSclafani threw a four-hitter and Scott Schebler homered twice to lift Cincinnati past Arizona.

Athletics 3, Cardinals 2 — Khris Davis hustled home on an infield grounder in the eighth and Oakland rallied for two runs to win in St. Louis.
