Fowler gets the point

Playing in his third Ryder Cup, Fowler finally got his first full point when he teamed with Mickelson, but they didn’t make it easy on themselves.

After being 1-up through nine, the twosome found themselves 2-down with four holes to play but won three straight holes and split the last for a 1-up victory that was Fowler’s first. He was 0-5-3 going into the match, having been shutout in both 2010 and 2014.

“A big relief, obviously, with me not having a full point yet, “Fowler said of getting the morning win. “Nice to finally get my first point.”
