Bills shortchanged

-

The Patriots knew there was virtually no chance of Watkins (left foot) suiting up tomorrow, a notion confirmed yesterday when the Bills at first ruled him out and eventually placed him on injured reserve.

The Bills also ruled out former Patriots receiver Greg Salas, so the only remaining wideouts are Goodwin, Woods and backups

Brandon Tate, Walter Powell and Justin Hunter, who was claimed off waivers yesterday and should be viewed as a longshot to play.

Woods, Goodwin, Powell and Tate have combined for 17 catches, 227 yards and one touchdown this season. Patriots cornerback Malcolm

Butler was unfazed by the downgrades of Watkins and Salas.

“We try to go out there and execute the game plan, whatever we’re told to go out there and do,” Butler said. “Whatever comes up, you just have to be ready for it.”
