Herald staff predictions
RON BORGES
Indians in 7: Tito gets his revenge not only on the guys in Boston who hung him out to dry but also on the guy in Chicago who helped them do it.
STEVE BUCKLEY
Indians in 6: It appears nothing can stop Tito's Partisans as Indians capture first World Series since 1948, when they marched into Braves Field and took out Boston's other big-league ball club.
EVAN DRELLICH
Cubs in 5: In the same way people can get a little too crazy talking about how bad John Farrell is, they can lose all sense of reality talking about how great Terry Francona is. Newsflash: Andrew Miller is dominant because he is a good pitcher. The Cubs are a much better team. If Tito wins, it will be luck.
JASON MASTRODONATO
Indians in 7: Trend setting occurs in the World Series, where we will be either reminded that an ace without a pitch limit (Jon Lester) can win you a championship, or that a deep bullpen (Indians) with an unconventional manager (Terry Francona) is the new flavor of success. Talent flows rich on the Cubs roster, but the underdog Indians look like a misshapen team that cannot be stopped.
MICHAEL SILVERMAN
Indians in 7: Go on, keep on underestimating the Indians, whose rotation keeps on shutting down loaded lineups, whose offense keeps on finding soft underbellies of opposing pitchers and whose bullpen has Andrew Miller. Go on, pick against them. I won't.
