Crosby leads Pens by Isles

Sidney Crosby scored the tiebreakin­g goal late in the third period to lead the Penguins to a 4-2 victory over the New York Islanders last night in Pittsburgh.

Patric Hornqvist, Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel also scored, each getting his third of the season, to help the Penguins improve to 5-0-1 at home.

Crosby, playing his second game after missing the first six with a concussion, scored with 2:25 left as he caught a pass from Scott Wilson at the top of the crease and quickly turned to his forehand to put the puck behind Islanders goalie Jaroslav Halak.

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 35 shots while starting for the eighth straight game. Canadiens 3, Lightning 1— Max Pacioretty scored the tiebreakin­g goal in a three-goal third period, and host Montreal defeated Tampa Bay for its sixth straight win.

Alex Galchenyuk and Torrey Mitchell also scored to help Montreal improve to 7-0-1. Carey Price made 29 saves to win for the fourth time in four starts.

Alex Killorn scored the goal for the Lightning.

Montreal remains the only NHL team still undefeated in regulation.

Coyotes 5, Flyers 4 — Martin Hanzal and Brad Richardson scored the decisive goals to help Arizona beat host Philadelph­ia to snap a five-game road losing streak.

Jamie McGinn, Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Ryan White also scored for Arizona. The Coyotes have

their only two wins this season against the Flyers.

Louis Domingue stopped 28 shots and won his first game of the season. He had been 0-4 with a 5.03 goals against average. Maple Leafs 3, Panthers

2— Mitch Marner had three assists and goaltender Frederik Andersen bounced back from a horrid outing as host Toronto won for the second time this season, topping Florida.

Andersen, who gave up a career-worst seven goals on Tuesday, stopped 29-of31 shots for Toronto.

Wild 4, Sabres 0 — Devan Dubnyk made 38 saves for his second straight shutout and Minnesota beat host Buffalo.

Ryan Suter had a goal and an assist, and Joel Ericsson Ek, Jason Zucker and Mikko Koivu also scored. Dubnyk shut out the Bruins, 5-0, on Tuesday night.

Jets 4, Stars 1 — Patrik Laine scored twice on the power play to help host Winnipeg beat Dallas.

Defenseman Tyler Myers got the Jets going just 15 seconds into the game and rookie Kyle Connor got his first NHL goal. Connor Hellebuyck had 38 saves. Red Wings 2, Blues 1 — Henrik Zetterberg scored in the eighth round of a shootout to give Detroit the victory over host St. Louis and its sixth straight win. Sharks 3, Blue Jackets 1 — Tomas Hertl scored twice in the third period, including an empty-netter that sealed host San Jose’s victory against Columbus.

Kings 3, Predators 2 — Jeff Carter scored with 29 seconds left in overtime and host Los Angeles edged Nashville. Elsewhere in the NHL — The Anaheim Ducks signed holdout defenseman

Hampus Lindholm to a sixyear, $31.5 million contract. The 22-year-old Lindholm missed the Ducks’ first eight games while holding out as a restricted free agent. Winnipeg’s Jacob

Trouba is the NHL’s only remaining restricted free agent without a deal.
