Despite finger pointing, Hill won’t be able to spin out of this probe

-

Hillary Clinton is once again being criminally investigated by the FBI. It’s a big deal, and don’t let anyone tell you differently. Feds investigated Watergate, 9/11, ABSCAM, Enron and Hurricane Katrina fraud, to name a few, and now they are investigating Hillary Rodham Clinton. She fits in there somewhere.

This is terrible news for the Clinton campaign, and as a result, a thousand rationalizations have been launched from every desperate corner.

Some say this is about Huma and not Hillary. Wrong. If all that was found was a cache of vomit-inducing Anthony Weiner selfies or Huma’s Napster downloads from 1999, this would be merely an embarrassment. But we know that thousands of relevant emails were found that may be pertinent to the Hillary Clinton investigation.

It is apparent that whatever was found in the Weiner/Abedin house is so damning that it is deserving of a historic reversal and reignition of the FBI probe.

Thunderstruck Clinton supporters are escaping to hastily conjured talking points.

“To bring this investigation up just days before an election is an attempt by (FBI Director James B.) Comey to influence the outcome,” is being blurted out about every 10 seconds by shell-shocked pundits.

Of course, that is absurd. The investigation has been going on for almost two years, during which Clinton obstructed, stalled and obfuscated at every turn. Hillary hid emails everywhere she could, and Comey was left to use whatever he could recover to conduct his investigation. He took what he could get his hands on and made his determination in July that there wasn’t enough to suggest a prosecution.

Team Clinton celebrated — all the lawyers and dodging and Bill Clinton running into Loretta Lynch’s plane had worked. Case closed. Until the huge email score at Huma and Weiner’s. Case opened.

In a spectacle of audacity, Clinton called on Comey to release everything. At a rally yesterday, she demanded voters “get full and complete facts.”

Can you imagine how much nerve a speechwriter had to muster to write a line like that about a person like Hillary in the context of an investigation that never would have happened if her prime directive wasn’t to give voters the full and complete facts?

This all started when Hillary lied about the dead Americans in Benghazi. To get out of those lies, Hillary ordered the deletion of thousands of emails that were under a congressional subpoena, leading to the discovery that she had recklessly risked national security by using her own personal, unsecured server.

The lies and cover-ups have all been to keep the public in the dark long enough to win the election.

Whether she is rewarded for this whole, wretched mess is up to the voters.
