Denver QB Siemian can’t go

- — HERALD WIRE SERVICES

The Denver Broncos ruled out quarterback Trevor Siemian for tomorrow’s game at Jacksonville, meaning rookie Paxton Lynch will make his second start.

Siemian had hoped to return to practice yesterday but the training staff put him right back in his walking boot and informed coach Gary Kubiak the second-year pro was a no-go against the Jaguars.

Lynch lost to Atlanta in Week 5 when Siemian was out with a bruised left shoulder.

The Broncos are scrambling for a playoff spot after their loss to Kansas City in which Siemian threw for a career-best 368 yards with three TDs and no interceptions but was sacked five times.

Fish pair returns

Miami Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert and left guard Laremy Tunsil took full part in practice, and barring setbacks they’re expected to return from injuries and play tomorrow at Baltimore.

Albert (left wrist) and Tunsil (shoulder) are listed as questionable, but coach Adam Gase hopes to have two of his best blockers against the Ravens.

Center Mike Pouncey (hip) has been ruled out for the third game in a row.

Pack stars banged up

The Packers have listed injured stars Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews as questionable for Green Bay’s game tomorrow against the Houston Texans.

Coach Mike McCarthy has said Rodgers and Matthews are expected to play. They were limited on Thursday in the Packers’ one day on the practice field so far this week.

Rodgers tweaked his left hamstring during the Packers’ 27-13 over the Eagles on Monday night. Matthews hurt his left shoulder in the Eagles game. . . .

Tyrann Mathieu did not practice and coach Bruce Arians said it’s doubtful the versatile Cardinals defensive back will play against Washington. Meanwhile, Redskins tight end Jordan Reed will miss the game with a sprained left shoulder. . . .

The Raiders plan to place cornerback DJ Hayden on injured reserve because of a hamstring injury, potentially ending the former firstround pick’s stay in Oakland.

Kuechly a no-go

Carolina All-Pro linebacker Luke Kuechly and safety Kurt Coleman have been ruled out for tomorrow’s game at Seattle with concussions. Defensive end Mario Addison, the team’s leader with 6.5 sacks, will miss his second straight game with a foot injury. . . .

The Seahawks are expected to get at least six players back from injury tomorrow, including safety Earl Thomas, defensive end Michael Bennett and center Justin Britt.

Also expected back in the lineup against the Panthers are cornerback DeShawn Shead, linebacker Mike Morgan and backup running back Troymaine Pope. ...

Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry and Houston Texans cornerback Kareem Jackson have each been fined $24,309 by the NFL for helmet-to-helmet hits last weekend.

Carolina backup quarterback Derek Anderson was fined $12,154 for yelling at an official from the sideline, and Panthers linebacker A.J. Klein was also docked $9,115 for a facemask penalty.
