AXE-BRELLA: It's not King Arthur's sword in the stone, but as umbrellas go, the one Britney Spears used to wail at a photographer in 2007 is pretty darn legendary. And it's going on sale. Daniel Ramos, the snapper on the business end of the nearwhomping, is auctioning the green umbrella on the 10th anniversary of the brouhaha. He kept it?
Ramos told Broadly that he will donate half the proceeds to a charity of Britney's choice. As you'll recall, 2007 was not a good year for Spears. She was locked in a custody battle with ex Kevin Federline, she had shaved her own head in an L.A. salon, and was driving through a gas station in Tarzana while being pursued by photogs.
Her cousin begged them to leave her alone, but Spears snapped, leaped out of her car, and wielded the umbrella on Ramos' Ford Explorer like she was a member of the Night's Watch taking on a White Walker. She later apologized and said the outburst was linked to a character she was auditioning for.
