Beacon to buy 5.6-acre parcel in Dorchester

Beacon Capital Partners has purchased a 5.6-acre property on William T. Morrissey Boulevard that includes one of Santander Bank's three Boston-based corporate offices and a retail branch.

Beacon paid $72.72 million for 2 Morrissey Blvd., according to a deed filed with the Suffolk Registry of Deeds. The seller was an affiliate of Archon Corp. in Las Vegas.

The lot includes a 167,236-square-foot building, according to the city's assessing department, which has the entire site appraised at $23.11 million.
