Worker dies after 20-foot fall off ladder in Waltham

A 54-year-old Boston man died yesterday after plummeting about 20 feet off of a scaffoldin­g at a constructi­on project in Waltham, police said.

The man, whose name was not released last night, suffered a serious head injury after falling from a home under constructi­on on Lincoln Street, according to Waltham police.

Although the man was treated by paramedics at the scene and rushed to a nearby hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The fatal incident is being investigat­ed by Waltham police, state troopers and the Occupation­al Safety and Health Administra­tion.

OSHA said the man was working for Shannon Gutter Service of Watertown when he fell.
